Our Members and Trustees
Membership of the CASSEL Centre is open to individuals who are interested in furthering the Centre’s work, subject to approval by the board of Trustees. Full membership is open to people over 18 years who have paid the annual subscription (currently £1.00). Only full members are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Junior membership is open to people under 18 years. Honorary members may be appointed by the board of Trustees.
A board of Trustees, elected at the AGM, directs the policy and general management of the CASSEL Centre. Its key responsibiliities are to:
- Maintain a long-term overview of the organisation and all its work
- Make strategic decisions about objectives, policies and procedures
- Ensure the needs and interests of relevant people and bodies are taken into account
- Ensure adequate resources to carry out activities
- Monitor the work of the organisation, especially progress towards objectives
- Ensure appropriate action is taken when work required
- Take legal responsibility for the organisation and all its actions

We also have a Finance & General Purposes (F&GP) Sub-committee whose role is "in-depth consideration and discussion of financial, personnel, administration and other matters which will assist the board of Trustees to formulate policies in order that governmental decisions may be taken"
