CASSEL Services for Professionals
For GPs and other care professionals We provide both short- and long-term counselling and psychotherapy services for adults, children and young people. We also provide Group-Psychotherapy and Drama-Therapy whenever suitable groups can be assembled. We are expanding our Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) provision and also offers Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT). Our services are primarily intended for people in Lewisham receiving benefits and these people are our our priority when allocating resources. For people who have an income we charge fees. Referrals Where our services seem relevant you are welcome to refer clients to us. We evaluate each referral and suggest which of our services is appropriate, subject to the availability of staff and accomodation. In some cases we may direct people to alternative resources. For Counsellors and Psychotherapists We are a community of over 60 staff, students and associates providing couselling and psychotherapy services. Qualified practitioners are welcome to use our 8 consulting rooms and 2 group meeting rooms to see clients, subject to availability. We offer training courses for counsellors, supervision for trainees and a program of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Our consulting rooms are also available for long-term hire by trainee psychotherapists, who are also encouraged to join our CPD program. Visit our trainee therapists page for more details
For social workers and probation services Social workers and cousellors based at the CASSEL centre provide a range of services which complement those available from other agencies. Some have been developed specially to fill gaps in local provision. Relevant services include:
Advocacy and liaison Finding appropriate resources Applying for grants
Practical help and advice Relationship counselling Parenting groups
